What will happen if my insurance company terminates my SR22 insurance before my filing period is over?
If your insurance is cancelled your SR22 insurance policy for any reason, whether it be because you cancelled it yourself or because your insurance company terminated your policy for non payment, it can pose a big problem for you. Once your SR22 insurance is cancelled, the insurance company is required by law to notify your state’s DMV. One notified, the DMV will most likely suspend your license again. You will have to go through the whole driver’s license reinstatement process all over again if this happens, and you will have to re-file your SR22 form. It’s pretty simple to avoid all this hassle. Just make sure you pay your SR22 insurance premium on time each month and you shouldn’t have any problems.
